As you probably know by now, Matchwell is innovating how clinicians and healthcare facilities come together for work by utilizing our proprietary matchmaking platform. With technology at our core, it’s imperative that we remain ever vigilant in monitoring and iterating to ensure we’re providing the best possible experience for our users. Luckily, we have Meagan Palmer leading the charge. Her experience has equipped her with the knowledge needed to navigate the Matchwell team through these uncharted waters, but it’s her spunk, humor, and levelheadedness that really sets her apart from most tech leaders. In this brief interview, you get a glance into what she does at Matchwell, why she loves working with this team, and how ice cream could play a part in her future.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I live near Raleigh, North Carolina with my husband, four kiddos (Nolan, Sadey, Oliver and Lily), two doggos (Charlie & Mia), and 1 cat (Lucky). Needless to say, my house is always loud and crazy! I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan so it’s in my blood to love the Detroit Lions and good beer (kind of a must when you’re a Lions fan). I’m a huge bookworm when I’m not busy with the kids or dogs… which is never. As a big fan of technology and a total startup nerd, I also love reading about all the new ideas and companies that are out there.
What do you do at Matchwell?
I make sure the platform is working as intended, and is always improving to better meet the needs of our clinician and facility end users. I love technology and finding solutions, and at Matchwell I get to spend my time using technology to solve the problems our users face every day.
What do you like most about your job?
I get to work with some really smart and talented people at Matchwell. There is a huge sense of teamwork and collaboration, which is really something special. Everyone on this team goes the extra mile to lift their colleagues up and be appreciative of what everyone brings to the table. It’s a great team to be a part of, and definitely the best part of my job.
What did you do previously?
Before joining the team at Matchwell, the majority of my career has been spent in the software startup world. Most recently, I was the Global Director of Professional Services for Kurtosys, a fintech company focused on using data automation to create a digital solution for the Asset Management space.
If you were to start your own business, what would it be?
I’ve got big plans to open an ice cream shop when I retire. Where I grew up, there were little Mom & Pop ice cream shops on every corner and I loved going as a kid. I’ve been putting the plans together to open my own someday for years! Who doesn’t love ice cream??
What’s something not many people know about you?
I have a slight obsession with Rod Stewart.
