With a heart of gold and the voice of a crooner, Thomas Luke (also known as TL) brings a ton of great energy to the Matchwell team. Our platform would be nothing without great partner facilities, which is TL’s main focus. He works daily to connect with top healthcare organizations and address the staffing issues they’re currently facing. Here he shares a little more about himself and what he’s passionate about.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Thomas, but most know me as TL. I grew up in Manhattan, the heart of New York City, so I love interacting with different types of people and laughing (way too loudly).
I consider myself a Social Entrepreneur’ which basically means that I believe businesses can change the world for the better. That’s why I’m so excited to be working with Matchwell.
What do you do at Matchwell?
Ultimately, I strive to help healthcare organizations connect more dots when it comes to their workforce. Whether it’s accessing more quality clinicians or communicating more efficiently with an existing team, Matchwell can help make a huge organizational impact.
What do you like most about your job?
I wake up every morning excited and passionate about the problem we’re solving. Not only are we trying to bridge a workforce supply deficit, we’re also trying to encourage collaboration between healthcare organizations to do more with less. That’s a new concept in today’s competitive healthcare environment.
What did you do previously?
I worked with Namely, a talent solutions SaaS company. In just over a year, our team expanded from 300 to 700 people, it was amazing to be a part of that. Prior to Namely, I attended Williams College in Massachusetts where I studied Political Science and Economics.
I pledge my time towards three impact areas: Healthcare, Education, and Environmental Sustainability.
If you were to start your own business, what would it be?
I’m extremely proud to say that my side hustle is a non-profit called the Youth, Education, and Sport Initiative (YES). In 2018, I co-founded YES with two former Williams soccer teammates. Our goal is to provide college access and support programming in underserved, rural communities. We mentor youth through sport and help them become college educated leaders in their communities.
What’s something not many people know about you?
I’m a Frank Sinatra impersonator…???!!!
